Gulf Building receives recognition for being named a Top 100 Florida employer

Gulf Building LLC has been named one of Florida’s top 100 private employers, an achievement recognized by the state’s governor.

“Floridians like you are helping make our state the best place in the world to raise a family, have a great career, and enjoy a life full of opportunity,” Gov. Rick Scott wrote in a letter to the company.

Gulf Building placed 13th in revenue growth among all private companies in a research report published by the South Florida Business Journal. The construction management services firm increased revenues 242 percent over a two-year period ending in 2015.

“We thank Gov. Scott for his commendation and will continue to do our best to help the state grow and Floridians prosper,” said president and CEO John Scherer.

The Business Journal had already recognized Gulf Building as one of the 50 fastest-growing companies in South Florida among those with over $25 million in annual revenues. The business publication also named the company one of the region’s 25 largest general contractors, and one of its 100 largest private companies.

In separate surveys, the business news organization ranked Gulf as 16th largest among general contractors in a market dominated by large builders and 68th among all private employers in the region.
