New Senior Center

New construction of a single story, 31,125 SF Senior Center that includes a multi-purpose room that functions as a dining area as well as an open space for social gatherings. Additional indoor spaces include a gym, aerobics, massage room, arts and crafts, theater, computer and reading area, locker rooms with showers and sauna, and administrative areas. Outdoor spaces include an exterior swimming pool, walking trails, landscaping, a pond, and ample parking. The Center will serve as a storm shelter during major storm events and a community shelter before and after storm events.

EYW New Concourse A and Terminal Improvements

The Concourse A and Terminal Improvements project at Key West International Airport consists of new construction of a 48,202 SF open, modern, and efficient concourse building including spaces for gates/ holdrooms, circulation, restrooms, and support areas which will be accessed from the main terminal by an extended pedestrian bridge. Below the new concourse, there will be additional new baggage make up area and device, airline ramp spaces, and ramp equipment storage areas. The existing landside terminal building will be renovated and improved to accommodate an expanded security checkpoint with 4 lanes and added support spaces at the existing restaurant location.

Hollywood Preschool, Classroom Building, New Parking Lot

The project includes two new buildings, additional parking area / retentions areas and a skate park located on a 6.67-acre site in Hollywood. This design/build project entails a one-story preschool building and a two-story (ground level) cafeteria / (second level) classroom building. The preschool will house 200 children allocated into twelve (12) classrooms for infants to 5 years old. Additional features include administration/support areas and a porte cochere for drop off / pick up.

The site development includes a 70-space parking lot, a playground area to the west, a large playground area with running track, and a chickee camp to the north. Other major civic related work includes an additional parking area / retentions area located to the south to serve this site, and the adjacent medical clinic complex.

The Medical & Behavioral Center includes a 16,348 SF Medical Clinic Building attached to a 3,057 SF Behavioral Health Building connected by an enclosed corridor. The medical building is a multipurpose treatment facility including medical care, dentistry, physical therapy, meeting space, Culinary teaching kitchen and pharmacy. The Public Safety Facility is a 21,504 SF, single-story facility comprised of a Fire, Police Station and Emergency Operation Center with watch room, bunk rooms, offices, exercise room, kitchen/dining, bunker gear, 3-bay apparatus space and building support spaces.

Delray Beach Fire Station No. 113

SFRTA Pompano Beach

Design-build contract for new construction of a 4-story, 474-space parking garage and a 3-story, 75,000 square foot operation center that included approximately 70,000 square feet of offices, a 3,200 square foot customer service and dispatch center, and a 150-seat board chambers. The project included CCTV, card access and fire alarm systems.

The Tri-Rail Pompano Beach Station Improvements portion of the Project included the demolition of the existing platform and the construction of a new 23,000 SF state-of-the-art station. The new station included solar power, LED lighting, new bicycle lockers, dedicated alternative fuel-source parking, electric vehicle charging stations, and a crossover bridge. The existing station remained in operation throughout construction. The Project was certified LEED Gold by the USGBC.

Miramar Fire Rescue Station 107

The City of Miramar Fire Rescue Station No. 107 is a new 14,000 SF station that includes three apparatus bays, seven standard bunk rooms, a Captain’s office, bathroom, and bunk room, a Lieutenants office, bathroom, and bunk room, a Battalion Chief’s office, bathroom, and bunk room, a three shift kitchen facility, a dining room, a gym, bathrooms, a community room, a conference room, a day room, a fire equipment room, a cascades room, a laundry room, various storage rooms, backup generator with 72 hours of fuel, and a traffic signal along Miramar Parkway for emergency vehicles.

Cloverleaf Park

The Cloverleaf Park Project is a design-build project completed for the City of Miami Gardens. This project included the design and construction of a signature recreation center building and approximately 1.5 acres of site improvements.

The new 1,500SF recreation center features a community room, office space and restrooms as well as new video surveillance systems, Public WIFI and utility services. The improvements to the site include the addition of a new basketball court, playground with shade structures, new site fencing, landscaping and irrigation as well as the renovation of an existing parking lot.

Coconut Creek Casino

Gulf Building completed the Seminole Coconut Creek Casino Expansion project for the Seminole Tribe of Florida. This project was completed in several stages while the Casino was open to the public. Gulf worked closely with The Seminole Tribe of Florida to deliver a quality project. The scope included 36,000 SF of new construction including retail space and restaurant facilities. Due to unavailability of the existing building’s plans, Gulf Building opted to begin construction around the existing occupied building while Engineers determined the designs for building connections.

Miramar Multi-Service Complex and Fire Station 19

The Miramar Regional Multi-Service Center & Fire Station 19 was completed for the City of Miramar under a GMP contract. In addition to the fire station, the 43,333 SF Multi-Service Center houses various city offices, bill pay centers and provides social services for senior citizens and city residents. The Fire Station replaced the trailers in which the Fire Department was previously located.

Big Cypress Public Safety Complex

Gulf completed the Big Cypress Public Safety Complex for the Seminole Tribe of Florida under a GMP contract. Together with Gulf Design Group, a division of Gulf Building, this Design-Build facility was a success. The facility is an Emergency Operations Center which houses more than two dozen staff members of the Seminole Tribe’s Public Safety Department, plus equipment for both police and fire rescue operations and a U.S. Postal Facility. The facility has a total of 52,000 SF of new construction.

Dorothy Quintana Community Center

The Dorothy Quintana Community Center was completed for the City of Miami. Gulf was awarded the project as a result of winning the competitive formal bid process. The Community Center provides a place for children and families to gather and provided much needed jobs to the community during the construction phase. The new building provides public restrooms, covered terraces, and a playground area to serve the neighborhood activities and summer programs. In addition, the building houses the staff offices of the Parks Department and the Wynwood/Edgewater Neighborhood Enhancement Team. The project was changed to seek LEED Silver Certification after construction had commenced. The project has achieved LEED Gold Certification.

Davie Water Treatment Plant

Gulf Building completed the Town of Davie Water/ Waste Water Treatment Plant for AECOM USA. Gulf assisted the design-build team in constructing a 6-million-gallon-per-day (MGD) brackish water membrane treatment plant as well as a 3.5-MGD membrane water reclamation facility. The project also included a new utility office for the town, a series of five raw water wells, two deep injection wells and reuse of the reclaimed water. Gulf’s scope of work consisted of the Structures Package, comprising 14 buildings, including foundations, concrete, masonry, tilt-wall systems, roofing, windows and doors, structural steel, miscellaneous metals, stucco & EIFS and elevator systems.

VA Central Energy Plant

Gulf Building and Hernandez Consulting teamed with James A. Cummings, Inc. as the SDVO partner, providing Project Management services for the Central Energy Plant (CEP) for the new Veteran’s Administration Medical Complex in Orlando, Florida. This new 52,000 SF CEP was constructed using tilt-up concrete walls and a structural steel frame. It services the entire VA Medical Complex which is located on an 65 acre site and includes a 2,000,000 SF Hospital, a 120 Bed Community Living Center, a Chapel, a 60 Bed Domiciliary, a 65,000 SF Warehouse Building and two 1,110 Car Parking Garages.

Chupco’s Landing

Gulf completed this project for the Seminole Tribe of Florida. The project consisted of a housing layout of thirty custom built homes on tribal land. Each home was 2,500 SF and designed specifically for each of the thirty families. The project was surrounded by pristine wetlands. Gulf successfully implemented a wetland protection plan while ensuring that the Owner was delivered a successful project on time and within the budget specified.

Immokalee Administrative Center

The Immokalee Administrative Center. Gulf Building completed construction services under a GMP contract for this three-story administration facility in Collier County, Florida. The facility includes multi-purpose areas, a commercial kitchen, a state-of-the-art heliport, executive offices, conference rooms, boardrooms, and a library. The Seminole Tribe uses this facility as a senior center for the Tribal Elders.
