New 56,345 SF single-story low-rise weapons storage and inspection facility that was certified LEED Gold and replaced the existing facility on base. Built-in equipment included a pallet racking/selective rack system, humidity control system, small munitions safe, infrastructure for an intrusion detection system and closed-circuit television security system. The building included industrial finishes in the shop and high bay areas with security rated doors and frames. Basic telephone, computer network, fiber optic, cable television, security and fire alarm, and mass notification systems and infrastructure were included in the project. Paving and site improvements included grading, parking facilities for approximately 40 vehicles, loading dock apron, roadways, curbs, sidewalks, landscaping, security fencing, signs and storm-water drainage.

VA MRI Clinic & Grounds Shop

Design-Build contract for the construction of a new MRI Clinic and Grounds Shop Building at the VA Medical Center in West Palm Beach, FL. This project replaced the existing MRI facilities located in mobile and trailer units at the Medical Campus. The Grounds Shop Building serves as the Maintenance and Facility Management Offices and Storage. The new MRI Clinic is located underneath an existing parking garage and is connected to the Main Hospital Building. Work was performed in an active and fully functional Medical Campus with zero impact on existing facilities and operations.

VAMC Pharmacy & Telemetry

This project required our Design-Build services to redesign room #5A-104 to accommodate pharmacy and telemetry services. The renovated space provides USP 800 compliant modular compounding, ante, storage and chemo rooms for pharmacy services and an adjacent space for telemetry services.

VA Central Energy Plant

Gulf Building and Hernandez Consulting teamed with James A. Cummings, Inc. as the SDVO partner, providing Project Management services for the Central Energy Plant (CEP) for the new Veteran’s Administration Medical Complex in Orlando, Florida. This new 52,000 SF CEP was constructed using tilt-up concrete walls and a structural steel frame. It services the entire VA Medical Complex which is located on an 65 acre site and includes a 2,000,000 SF Hospital, a 120 Bed Community Living Center, a Chapel, a 60 Bed Domiciliary, a 65,000 SF Warehouse Building and two 1,110 Car Parking Garages.
