EYW New Concourse A and Terminal Improvements

The Concourse A and Terminal Improvements project at Key West International Airport consists of new construction of a 48,202 SF open, modern, and efficient concourse building including spaces for gates/ holdrooms, circulation, restrooms, and support areas which will be accessed from the main terminal by an extended pedestrian bridge. Below the new concourse, there will be additional new baggage make up area and device, airline ramp spaces, and ramp equipment storage areas. The existing landside terminal building will be renovated and improved to accommodate an expanded security checkpoint with 4 lanes and added support spaces at the existing restaurant location.

SFRTA Pompano Beach

Design-build contract for new construction of a 4-story, 474-space parking garage and a 3-story, 75,000 square foot operation center that included approximately 70,000 square feet of offices, a 3,200 square foot customer service and dispatch center, and a 150-seat board chambers. The project included CCTV, card access and fire alarm systems.

The Tri-Rail Pompano Beach Station Improvements portion of the Project included the demolition of the existing platform and the construction of a new 23,000 SF state-of-the-art station. The new station included solar power, LED lighting, new bicycle lockers, dedicated alternative fuel-source parking, electric vehicle charging stations, and a crossover bridge. The existing station remained in operation throughout construction. The Project was certified LEED Gold by the USGBC.

T4 Foundations and Superstructure

Gulf Building was selected for the construction of the foundations, and superstructure / shell for the expansion of Terminal 4 to support new construction of a 200,000 SF addition to the existing terminal. Work was being performed in an active airport with no effect on existing airport operations. Gulf also completed the demolition and removal of an existing concrete apron prior to commencement of foundations work.

Broward County Security Credentialing Office

Project included interior build-out of an approximately 5,000 square feet of spaces on the fourth floor of Terminal 1. Work included metal studs, gypsum wallboard, lay-in-tile ceilings, flooring, tile, painting, cabinetry, doors/frames/hardware, windows, mechanical, electrical, data/CCTV, fire protection and plumbing work. Also included was the removal of existing Credentialing Office trailers and demolition of the existing Credentialing Office masonry building.

West & Northwest Concourses

This project consisted of construction of two new concourses totaling 150,000 SF at the Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. The work included ticket counters, terminal seating and terminal retail areas. It also included airport operations and baggage handling facilities on the ground floor. Numerous aircraft loading bridges, both fixed and measurable, were installed.

Consolidated Rental Car Facility

4.5 million SF, 9-floor mixed use facility at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport that included a quick turnaround area (QTA) for the rental car companies and a maintenance area with fueling, washing, vacuuming, and staging for up to 1,000 rental cars. Levels 2 through 4 house a 120,000 SF rental car concession and customer service area plus 1,000 car rental parking spaces per floor. Floors 5 through 9 add another 4,800 public parking spaces.

PBIA – Long Term Parking Structure No. 2

7-story, 3,500 space, 1,421,000 SF precast concrete parking structure that included all related site improvements and construction of vehicular bridges to tie it into an adjacent parking structure and the existing airport terminal. To facilitate use of the pedestrian bridges, two elevators as well as five stair towers were constructed.

Earlington Heights Station

700′ long hot rail rapid transit station to accommodate 2-way traffic. It included the complete elevated concrete terminal and transit structures and finishes, transit power and gear, emergency power, UPS systems, escalators, elevators, trains monitoring and controls systems.

Miami Metrorail Control Center

Modernization of MDT’s existing Metrorail Control Center (MRCC) to provide improved operations and maintenance of Metrorail facilities and systems and to improve response times to critical safety and security events. This project included the development of existing office space to accommodate the modernization of the existing Central Control facility and systems, including the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system on the 3rd, 4th, and 5th floors, power distribution units, multiple server units/ banks, uninterruptible power supplies, electrical systems, and existing systems hardware and software. All work was done while the Stephen P. Clark Government Center and the existing Central Control Center remained fully operational 24/7.
